GREG CROSBY, M.A., LPC, CGP, FAGPA

Greg Crosby, M.A., LPC, CGP, FAGPA, is a practicing therapist, trainer, teacher, and consultant. For over 25 years, he was the clinical regional coordinator of group therapy at Kaiser Permanente in Oregon and Washington and is a Fellow in the Group Psychotherapy Association. Greg serves on the Board of International Certified Group Psychotherapists and also on the Human Science Faculty and Art Therapy Graduate Program at Marylhurst University. Since 2004 he has served on the faculty at Portland State University in the Certificate Program of Interpersonal Neurobiology and also teaches group therapy courses in the Human Services Program.

A leader in developing and designing groups, he speaks at conferences and agencies around the country. He matches group models from a wide variety of modalities including psychodynamic, interpersonal, social skills, CBT, DBT, psycho-educational to client’s needs, educational levels and learning styles. He has developed a four step process to help clients get engaged in groups and improve retention. Greg brings a holistic and integrative view of the wide range of group modalities with a practical, evidenced based, engaging teaching style. His work has included implementing groups for private practice, early childhood programs, schools, colleges, managed care, prisons, residential treatment, community mental health and retirement centers.

He has written articles with Jim Sabin, MD, A Planning Checklist for Establishing Groups and Developing and Marketing Time Limited Groups in Psychiatric Services. Greg has written a chapter called Integrated Group CBT with Donald Altman, MA, LPC, in the Handbook of Group Psychotherapy. He has won the Kaiser Horizon Award and Allied Health Excellence Award for the development of group therapy program. As a consultant for Morrison Child and Family Services, he worked on the training and implementation of their early childhood parenting group program which won the Science to Service Award from SAMSHA.
