TODD JAEGER, J.D.

Todd Jaeger, Esq., has served as legal counsel to public schools for 25 years. He received juris doctorate in law from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, where he distinguished himself as a member of the school’s Moot Court Board and National Moot Court Team. After several years in a private practice and in-house corporate counsel work, Mr. Jaeger realized his dream of combining the practice of law with a life of public service by joining his first K-12 school district as its in-house legal counsel. He expanded that role some years later by becoming General Counsel and Associate Superintendent of his second K-12 school district, Amphitheater Unified – a position held for nearly 20 years before rejoining Tucson Unified, where he currently serves as General Counsel.

Throughout his school career, Mr. Jaeger has provided legal representation to Arizona public schools, governing boards, and staff in diverse legal matters including, but not limited to, matters of environmental law; labor and employment; discrimination and sexual harassment complaints; student rights and responsibilities; and special education. Mr. Jaeger’s special education experience includes the rare and successful pursuit of an inverse due process case, in which his client school district took the parents of a student to hearing. He believes in the practice of “preventative law’ through training his own school district staff members, as well as staff from other districts and schools as an extension of his desire to support public education. He is, therefore, a frequent speaker on educational law issues for various professional organizations. He is a member of the Arizona Bar, as well as the National Council of School Attorneys.
