NICOLE BEURKENS, PH.D.

Nicole Beurkens, Ph.D., has over 15 years of experience helping hundreds of families impacted by autism. She is a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a master's degree in Special Education, and is trained in numerous specialty areas relating to autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Nicole is the founder and director of the Horizons Developmental Remediation Center in Caledonia, Michigan. Her team is dedicated to autism solutions, research on parent-child interaction and relationships, and family-focused treatment approaches.

A published author of Learning as we Grow and a coauthor of Relationship Development Intervention and Education, Nicole has also developed educational tools for families and professionals. She's a highly sought-after international consultant and speaker. Her work has been highlighted by numerous online and print publications, and she's an expert media source. A Mom's Choice Award recipient and AutismOne Best Therapist award winner, Nicole publishes an award-winning newsletter for thousands of subscribers each week. When she isn't working with families in her practice, she enjoys spending time with her own family, including her husband and four young children.
