ELAINE DUCHARME, PHD, ABPP

Elaine Ducharme, Ph.D., ABPP, is Board Certified in Clinical Psychology and is a nationally recognized expert in the assessment and treatment of physical and psychological trauma. During the last 30 years she has treated thousands of victims and perpetrators. Dr. Ducharme is an adjunct professor at University of Hartford and has served as public education coordinator for the Connecticut Psychological Association for six years. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Distinguished Public Service award from Psychologists in Independent Practice, a division of the American Psychological Association and Distinguished Psychological Contribution to the Public Interest from the Connecticut Psychological Association.

She is the author of Must I Turn the Other Cheek, a book about premature forgiveness and Knock Knock Who’s There?, an on-line course for the treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder. She is working on a new book on DID that will be published in 2014. Dr. Ducharme has produced numerous continuing education training videos, and webinars on topics including sexual abuse, assessment and treatment of juvenile sex offenders, depression, eating disorders and cybersex. She has lectured locally and nationally and has appeared on both local and national radio and television. She is a monthly guest on WRCH radio, a CBS station in Connecticut and writes weekly blogs on mental health issues for the CBS radio affiliate to WRCH in New Britain, CT. She also blogs for the American Psychological Association at www.yourmindyourbody.org
