JAY CARTER, PSYD, DABPS

JAY CARTER, PsyD, DABPS, is a private practitioner and a veteran speaker with Cross Country Education, (now Vyne Education), with nearly 30 years of experience who has trained over 30,000 mental health professionals. Dr. Carter is the author of the best-selling book, Nasty People, which has sold over one million copies in the US and around the world, as well as the popular book series, Nasty Men, Nasty Women, and Nasty Bosses (McGraw-Hill). His latest book is Idiot’s Guide to Bipolar (Penguin).

Dr. Carter has made over 100 national television and radio appearances in the USA, Canada, Australia, and United Kingdom. He consulted with Reader's Digest for an article on "Mean People", and has also consulted with the Oprah Winfrey Show. He has appeared in Oprah magazine and Cosmopolitan. Dr. Carter has spoken before colleges, universities, and institutions including Loyola University, Temple University, United Way, IBM, the Association of University Women, and Union Carbide. He has served on numerous boards, including the board of directors for the Sexual Assault Resource Center and Women in Crisis (Battered Women), and on the Pennsylvania subcommittee for Government Drug and Alcohol Services, as well as serving as past president of the Berks Area Psychological Society.
