ANN ZYLSTRA, PT, is a licensed physical therapist with over 26 years of clinical practice, primarily in the evaluation and treatment of neurologic disorders. She is the manager of rehabilitation services and the lead physical therapist for the treatment of movement disorders at the Evergreen Neuroscience Institute in Kirkland, Washington. Ms. Zylstra manages the multi-disciplinary therapy team for both the hospital's MS Center and its Booth Gardner Parkinson's Care Center. Her team of neurologists, physiatrists, neuropsychologists, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists provide award-winning acute and outpatient services.
Ms. Zylstra is also a certified vestibular therapist. She has participated in several PD studies and has published numerous abstracts, including "oculomotor impairment associated with PD" and "physical therapy outcomes for PD." Ms. Zylstra is currently a board member and past co-president of the Washington Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association, where she has volunteered for more than eight years to help develop resources and supports for patients. As a seasoned presenter and educator, she has developed and presented numerous continuing education trainings on neurological rehabilitation in both her home state and Montana. Ms. Zylstra is known for presenting lively, interactive courses that engage participants through the examination of current, evidence-based research and case study examples.
